My Typical Everyday Foods Breakfast For breakfast, I usually have an organic cereal, such as:
I also have a mug of Trader Joe's decaffeinated green tea with soymilk in it. (I vigorously shake the soymilk up and pour it on the tea which adds a foamy froth on top, kind of a tea cappuccino:) ). I sometimes have a mid-morning green tea. Lunch I typically take a peanut butter and jelly sandwich for lunch. I know, it doesn't sound healthy, but here is how I make it: I use organic sprouted grain breads, such as Ezekiel or Genesis Bread, natural or organic peanut butter containing just peanuts, and St Dalfour's black raspberry preserves. They don't list this on their website, so I'm hoping they are still going to make it! I also drink a v8 and orange juice for lunch to get some fruit and veggies. Additionally, I take some side snacks such as: cashews, peanuts, habanero pistachios, soynuts, soy/flaxseed rice crackers, a banana, and other natural/organic snacks. I sometimes have a mid-afternoon green tea. Dinner Dinner varies widely. Some of my main dishes are: Fish, spaghetti (made with ezekiel pasta and organic tomato sauce), chili, soyburgers, burritos filled with beans and soy, tortilla pizza (made with Ezekiel tortilla, sauce and soycheese) and soy nuggets (like chicken nuggets, but made with soy). Trader Joes makes a good organic spinach pizza. For side dishes I try to have: broccoli, cauliflower, corn, fruit salad, fries baked with peanut oil, potatoes baked with olive oil. I will usually drink a juice, soymilk, Bolthouse Farms Green Goodness or Odwalla Superfood Micronutrient Fruit Juice Drink along with dinner. I sometimes have a mid-evening green tea. I also often have a smoothie in the evening. For fruit smoothies, I include a scoop of whole soy powder, Trader Joes "Very Green" powder, a banana, and a variety of berries (blueberry, strawberry and others). For a chocolate smoothie I use unsweetened cocoa powder with soymilk, whole soy powder and bananas. |
